GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – The Adirondack Thunder look to get back on the winning track Friday after seeing their string of six straight victories snapped, 5-1, at Brampton on Wednesday.

The Thunder will host the Reading Royals at 7 p.m. Friday at Cool Insuring Arena, the first contest in a two-game series between the teams that concludes Saturday at Reading.

The Thunder (8- 3) and Royals (5-2) are in second and third place, respectively, in the ECHL’s North Division, although firstplace Newfoundland (9- 5) has played three more games than Adirondack and four more than Reading.

Friday’s game is the first regular-season meeting between the Thunder and Royals, following a pair of preseason exhibition battles last month.

Adirondack’s James Henry recorded an assist in Wednes-

day’s defeat at Brampton. He now has 18 points (2 goals, 16 assists), tied for second on the league scoring chart.

Peter MacArthur had the Thunder’s only goal on Wednesday. It came on a power play at 9:53 of the first period. Shane Conacher controlled the puck at the top of the faceoff circle and fed Henry to the side of the Brampton net.

Henry found MacArthur with a back-door feed and MacArthur scored for his fifth tally of the year.

Brandon Marino responded for the Beast with a power-play goal of his own less than five minutes later. Marino found a loose puck in front of the net that had deflected off aThunder defenseman and flipped it into the cage past a diving Cam Johnson for his third score of the year.

The game remained tied, 1-1, until midway through the third period when the Beast struck for three quick unanswered goals, plus an empty-netter, which made the final, 5-1.

After this weekend, the Thunder have three more road contests and don’t return home again until Thanksgiving eve, Wednesday, Nov. 21 when they host Manchester.
