DOCUMENTARY FILM SCREENING: The Williams College Davis Center, the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Multicultural Education Resource Center, and the Bennington College Engagement Center, will co-host a screening of the film “No Más Bebés,” which recounts the stories of Latina immigrant women in Los Angeles who were involuntarily sterilized after giving birth in the 1960s and 1970s. A conversation with Hannah Noel, assistant professor of English and communications at MCLA, will follow the film. This screening in the Social Change Film Series takes place on Tuesday, November 13, at 7p.m. in the MCLA Sullivan Lounge in North Adams MA. Buhl, Jr., who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and his stepson William W. Loughlin, who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, will be honored at a ceremony held on November 13at 8:30 a.m. in the Legislative Chambers, Third Floor, Rensselaer County Office Building, 1600 Seventh Avenue, Troy. Buhl was a Mechanical Specialist who later worked for Montgomery Ward and as a bus driver for the East Greenbush Central School. Loughlin earned the National Defense Security Medal while specializing in the electrical field and later worked as a mechanic for the Albany department of general services.
