Schodack Troopers arrest Albany woman for Leandra’s Law
SCHODACK, N.Y. >> Troopers said they arrested Amanda L. Martin, 31, of Albany, at 5:30 p. m., Nov. 11, in the Town of Schodack and charged her with Aggravated DWI, Leandra’s
Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Troopers said they received a call about a vehicle driving erratically on SR- 9 in the Town of Schodack. The caller reported the vehicle swerving all over the road and nearly causing several crashes.
Troopers responded and subsequently conducted a traffic stop.
Upon speaking with Martin, State Police said Martin displayed bloodshot glassy eyes and slurred speech.
Police said standardized Field Sobriety Tests were given and Martin was arrested for DWI.
Additionally, troopers say a 10-year- old child was in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
Troopers say Martin gave a breath sample resulting in a .19% blood alcohol concentration. Martin was processed and charged with the following:
• Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor
• Aggravated DWI; an Unclassified Misdemeanor
• Aggravated DWI with a child in the vehicle ( Leandra’s Law); a Class E Felony
• Endangering the Welfare of a Child; a Class A Misdemeanor • Traffic Violations Martin was released and is expected to appear in court on Nov. 14, 2018.
