Watervliet man charged with murder of teen
COHOES N.Y. >> On Wednesday night, city officials announced the arrest of Thomas
Slivienski for allegedly murder i ng a 17-year- old male l ast Friday night.
On Nov. 16, Johni Dunia was shot and killed on the MohawkHudson bike path, which is adjacent to Central Ave in the City of Cohoes.
Officials from the Cohoes Police Department and the New York State Police said after an intensive investigation from both agencies, along with technical assistance from the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center and the FBI that the investigation led them to Slivienski, 22, of Watervliet.
Officials said Slivienski was charged with seconddegree murder.
Officials said Slivienski was arraigned in Cohoes Criminal Court by Judge Andra Ackerman and remanded to Albany County Jail with no bail.
“I am grateful to the entire Cohoes Police Department lead by Chief [ Bill] Heslin and Assistant Chief [ Tom] Ross and our partners in the State Police and FBI for their quick work in apprehending and subsequently making an arrest of Thomas Slivienski,” said Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse in a news release late Wednesday night. “The city
