Yankee Trails celebrates seventh season of Santa’s Magical Express

RENSSELAER, N.Y. >> Yankee Trails, along with Market 32 by Price Chopper and Garelick Farms, announced the return of “Santa’s Magical Express,” for its seventh year running.

Organizers expect to welcome the 30,000th visitor to Santa’s Magical Express early in the season.

Santa’s Magical Express is a 90-minute production and motor coach ride which gets families into the holiday spirit and teaches chil- dren about working together to overcome bullying. Over the event’s six-year history, the production has:

• Delighted 28,750 visitors who have marveled at 290,500 light-bulbs worth of decoration­s and 15 unique characters

• Drank 2,100 gallons of milk

• Eaten 74,850 cookies

• Decorated 12,950 Santa hats

In addition, Santa’s Magical Express has donated more than $25,000 in free admissions to area chari- table organizati­ons in the Capital Region, to ensure every child has a chance to experience Christmas magic.

“We are excited that the Capital Region’s premiere holiday show will be returning for the seventh year in a row,” Stephen Tobin, President of Yankee Trails said.

“Santa’s Magical Express has become a beloved tradition for many families, and we welcome new visitors to the experience every year. It has been a plea-

sure for our team at Yankee Trails to play such a big role in keeping the magic of the holidays alive for children and families across the region,” Tobin added.

Starting Friday, Nov. 23, families can hop on the Magical Express for up to eight shows each night, every Thursday through Sunday, until Sunday, Dec. 23.

The Magical Express will travel through a Christmas Wonderland as riders are treated to light displays provided by the Albany Police Athletic League ( PAL) Capital Lights in the Park.

Children can take pictures with Santa, decorate a Santa hat, mail their letters to the North Pole, chase down their favorite holiday characters like Frosty the Snowman and Ebenezer Scrooge all before em- barking on a special journey to Garelick Farms to help Santa save Christmas from the sneaky Jack Frost.

Along the way, the Magical Express will stop at Market 32 by Price Chopper in Rensselaer for compliment­ary milk and cookies

ickets for children 12 and under start at $24 with online reservatio­ns and adults start at $29. Children attending Saturday performanc­es (with the exception of the 8:00 p.m. show) will receive the book “Hat’s Off to Santa” and a Magical Express miniature bus.

During Saturday’s 8:00 p.m. performanc­e, one child rides free with every full-priced adult ticket.
