King’s 28 points help CBA Basketball to Tuesday night win

BOYS BOWLING

SHEN 26, CBA 6: Shen earned the Suburban Council win Wednesday afternoon when they faced off with CBA. Shen knocked down a total of 3426 pins while CBA mustered up 2816. Shen’s top bowler was Brennon Belding, who bowled a 267/688. Damian LaBrake for Shen followed him up with a 245/654. CBA’s top bowler was Tin Knowles with a 224/609.

SCHALMONT 19, COHOES 13: Schalmont’s win Wednesday afternoon was powered by Jacob Frank’s 276/634. Schalmont knocked down a total of 3351 pins and Cohoes knocked down 3213 pins. Cohoes’ top bowler was Max Suprenant, who bowled a 256/633.

AVERILL PARK 24, ALBANY 8: Averill Park knocked down a total of 3406 pins in route to the Wednesday night win over Albany. Averill Park’s top bowler was Joe Kellar, who shot a series high 691. Albany’s Jedrek Arasim shot a 543 for the series.

GIRLS BOWLING

Lansingbur­gh 21.5, Maple Hill 10.5: Lansingbur­gh earned the Colonial Council win Wednesday with the win over Maple Hill. Kristina Pondillo rolled a 586 for the series and shot the high game for Lansingbur­gh with 244. Maple Hill was led by Kate Ackerman, who shot Maple Hill’s high series with a 492.

CBA 77, GUILDERLAN­D 48: CBA’s Jordan King racked up 28 points in the Brother’s win Tues- day over Guilderlan­d. Peter O’Toole added 16 of his own and Drew Signor and Tyler Grimes each added nine of their own in the own. Guilderlan­d’s Ryan Teaney scored 21 points, including a seven for nine performanc­e from the free throw line.

SCHALMONT 63, LA SALLE 60. La Salle dropped a tough Colonial Council battle at home against Schalmont Tuesday night. La Salle erased an 11 point 3rd quarter deficit to tie the game with 40 seconds. Schalmont’s Darrell Green, LJ Randle, and Shane O’Dell each tallied 14 points in the win for Schalmont. La Salle was led by Luke Bourgault’s 14 points.

TAMARAC 72, BISHOP MAGINN 63: Tamarac picked up the win Tuesday thanks to a 27 point performanc­e from Bo Catherwood, who was also three for six from the free throw line. Frank Zotto added 23 points of his own in the win. Bishop Maginn’s McMullen scored 25 points in the loss.

TROY 68, ALBANY 59 : Troy earned the Section 2 win over Albany Tuesday thanks to a 23 point performanc­e from Nazaire Merritt. Albany’s offense was led by Michael Benitez, who scored 18 points in the loss. Albany’s Tye-Rell Monroe and Trevor Johnson added eight points apiece.

CATHOLIC CENTRAL 47, COHOES 36: Catholic Central earned the win Tuesday over Cohoes. Jackson Brown scored 14 and Al’lon Walters scored 13 to power CCHS. Cohoes was led by Troy Snyder’s 10 points and Ivan Brajac scored eight.

MOHONASEN 71, ICHABOD CRANE 27: Mohonasen overpowere­d Ichabod Crane Tuesday thanks to Duncan Tallman’s 27 point performanc­e. Chase Monroe scored nine and Logan Calkins eight as the next highest scorers. ICC’s leading scorer, Kennedy, had seven points.

BETHLEHEM 7 7, SHAKER 53: Bethlehem earned the Suburban Council win over Shaker Tuesday afternoon. Bethlehem’s Michael Ortale and Erik Salo each tallied 14 points in the win. Shaker’s leading scorer was Trey Mariano, who scored 16 points.

SHEN 57. NISKAYUNA 51: Shen improves to 1-1 overall this season with the Suburban Council win over Niskayuna Tuesday. For Shen, Devin Dzikas scored 19 points to lead the Plainsman to the win. Niskayuna’s top scorer was, Kelly, who also scored 19.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ALBANY ACADEMY 45, COHOES 43: Albany Academy earned the win Tuesday over Cohoes. Milaana Jackson scored 14 points, including a four for six performanc­e from the free throw line. Meleena Ottati added 11 points. Cohoes’ Olivia Huneay scored 28 points in the loss. Huneay scored 18 from behind the arc.

CATHOLIC CENTRAL 51, LANSINGBUR­GH 34: Catholic Central powered their way to the win over Lansingbur­gh Tuesday thanks to a 14 point performanc­e from Brooke Curtin. Sarah Mattfeld scored nine and Sarah Boucher eight to help Catholic Central. Lansingbur­gh’s Patience Riley scored 15 and Madison Teta scored 13 in the loss.

MAPLE HILL 44, CATSKILL 15: Maple Hill improves to 2-0 overall with the win over Catskill on Tuesday. Maple Hill’s Lydia Chittenden scored 13 points in the win. Paige Bleau and Abby Utter added six points apiece in the win.

ICHABOD CRANE 55, MOHONASEN 46:Ichabod Crane notched its first victory of the season with a Colonial Council win over Mohonasen.Madie Graham led the scoring with 27 points along with 4 steals and 4 blocks. Kyla Elliott scored 9 of her 11 points in the second half. Mohonasen’s Breanna Lott scored 17.

SHAKER 47, BETHLEHEM 40: Maddy Malicki scored 13 points and Jules DeBeatham notched 11 in Shaker’s win over Bethlehem. Bethlehem’s Wise scored 14 in the loss.

HOLY NAMES 51, SCHALMONT 29: Holy Names spread out the floor on their way to the win over Schalmont Tuesday. Grace Field scored 11, Saniyna Adams scored ten for Holy Names in the win. Holy Names had 11 different scorers. Schalmont’s Payton Graber scored 16 and Haley Burchhardt scored 10 in the loss.

TROY 24, ALBANY 8: Troy picked up the Suburban Council win Tuesday night at the Uncle Sam Lanes in Troy. Eighth grader Olivia DeCitise scored a series total of 638. Alex Hepp added a 614 series total. Albany’s top bowler was Eliza Arasim, who shot a 657.

C OLU MBI A 25. BALLSTON SPA 7 (GIRLS): Columbia earned the Suburban Council win Tuesday night . Ballston Spa’s Kara Cataldo shot a series total of 564 and her highest game being a 215 pin total.

HOOSICK FALLS 4, HOOSIC VALLEY 0: Hoosick Falls’ Junior Evan Webster 278-734 was the high bowler for the Panthers while Leigha Henkel 207601 led the way for Hoosic Valley in Hoosick Falls’ win Tuesday. . Hoosick Falls finished with a total of 3924 pins compared to Hoosic Valley 2883. Hoosick Falls’ Colin Cipperly scored 254- 686. Hoosic Valley top scores included Douglas Wickham 209-585 and Jen Acker 191.

COLONIE 20, SARATOGA 12: Colonie picked up the win Tuesday afternoon, knocking down 3543 pins to overpower Toga’s 3377 total pins. Colonie’s led the way with series total of 650. Cole Champagne had a 605 series total. Saratoga’s Hunter Chandler shot a 673 series total and Chris Young a 605 in the loss.

BETHLEHEM 17. 5, SCHENECTAD­Y 14. 5 ( GIRLS): Bethlehem knocked down 3043 pins in route to the Suburban Council win over Schenectad­y Tuesday night. Schenectad­y finished with a 2966 pin total. Bethlehem’s top bowler was Madi Robbins, who shot a series total 541. Schenectad­y’s Katie Polomaine shot a series total of 588.
