Police arrest Troy man on multiple warrants
BRUNSWICK, N.Y. >> A 28-yearold Troy man was arrested by State Police and the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department on multiple outstanding warrants.
Troopers in Brunswick and the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Department said they arrested Zackary Plante, 28, of Troy, on multiple outstanding warrants.
Police said Plante was originally arrested by Troopers on a burglary charge. Officials said he was released on bail and fled the State.
Authorities said he was located in 2016 hiding in his mother’s house in Troy and charged with bail jumping. Plante was again released on bail, and again fled the State.
Authorities said a warrant was issued for Plante in 2017 for failing to appear on the bail jumping charge.
Over the next year, police said Plante remained on the run, racking up arrests and
warrants in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Ohio, and Louisiana.
Officials said Plante was arrested Monday by the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant with Rensselaer County Probation for a violation, and the bail jumping warrant out of the State Police in Brunswick.
Police said Plante was additionally charged with a second count of third- degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor, for failing to appear on the previous bail jumping charge.
Officials said that Plante also has warrants in Colonie and Troy.
Police said Plante was arraigned in the Town of Brunswick Court by the Honorable Town Justice Terrance Buchanan.
Authorities said Plante was remanded to RCJ in lieu of bail, and is scheduled to appear at a later date.
