TROY – Frances Burke Kippen, known to many as “Frankie”, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 embraced by the love of her family. Born in Troy, Frankie was one of five daughters born to the late Francis and Clarinda (Peron) Burke. She was a life-long Troy resident and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Grammar School and Catholic Central High School, the class of 1950. Frankie dedicated her life to caring for her family and her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. A devout catholic, she was a life-long parishione­r and patron of St. Joseph’s Church in Troy. She was the much loved wife, for 66 years, of Walter W. Kippen, Sr.; the cherished mother of Cathleen (Vincent) Olmstead, Walter W. Kippen, Jr. (late Deidre) and Jason (Teri) Kippen; the dear sister of Tommie and the late Mollie, Paddy and Billie. She is also survived by 7 grandchild­ren, 4 great-grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 9 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Troy. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Frankie’s family on Friday, from 4 until 7 pm at St. Joseph’s Church.
