DUDLEY OBSERVATORY: Every Thursday, rain or shine, join miSci, the Museum of Innovation and Science, for “Evenings at the Dudley Observatory”. Educators from the Dudley Observatory at miSci will operate their14-inch telescope inside the roll-top roof observatory, allowing visitors to see stars, planets, galaxies, and more each night. In the event of poor weather, there will be handson activities indoors. The observatory at 15Nott Terrace, Schenectady, will be open from 6:30p.m. – 8p.m. through March 7, 2019. miSci galleries will be open continuously from 9a.m. until the observatory closes. Access to the observatory or activities is free with museum admission ($12Adult, $10Senior, $8Child, free for miSci members).

FULL MOON HIKE: Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District invites you to enjoy Mud Creek under the glow of the December full moon, known as the Cold Moon or Long Nights Moon. Sunday, Dec. 23 CAPITAL DISTRICT YOUTH CHORALE: Now in its 36th season, the Capital District Youth Chorale is a talented group of singers ages 9-17 from forty public and parochial schools who meet weekly at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland and perform at least six local concerts each year. They perform their annual holiday concert, featuring holiday music from the Renaissance to Broadway, at 3p.m. on Sunday, December 23, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at Albany. CELEBRATION OF LESSONS & CAROLS: The ninth annual Celebration of Lessons and Carols in Kinderhook begins at 4p.m. on Sunday, December 23, at Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21Broad Street. Nine readers from the larger community will be joined by a choir of forty experienced singers under the direction of David Smith. Choral offerings include works from the 17th through 20th centuries.
