Parents have options - Try private schools

-

It pains me to see parents picketing outside of public schools with genuine expressions of concern on their faces. They worry about safety, bullying, and quality education. They feel stuck in a bureaucratic system where they feel they have no options but to picket outside. As a product of public schools myself and as a parent, I can relate to their concerns. But I want these parents to know that they do have options and there is a better way - send your children to private schools.

I know when people hear private schools they immediate think of high tuition and fear they can’t afford it. They also have a visceral reaction to change that requires extra effort and sacrifice. However, the path that’s the most rewarding requires some effort.

Our family chose to send our children to St. Mary’s school Ballston Spa “the small school with the big heart” and it has been such an incredibly rewarding experience. My daughter, who is quiet and reserved by nature, has high self-esteem and a positive self image thanks to private education. She receives individual attention from her teachers and benefits from an academic program tailored to her needs. St. Mary’s teachers show kindness and compassion to all students. I would encourage all parents who feel trapped in government school districts to give St. Mary’s a call to schedule a tour. Jennifer VanDeCarr Ballston Lake, NY
