ShopRite announces campaign for children’s hospital at Albany Medical Center
CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. >> ShopRite recently announced its latest campaign to support the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
According to a news release, six ShopRite stores in the Capital Region and Hudson will collect donations at checkout and host in-store activities and events to raise funds through March 2.
Officials said that the campaign officially began Sunday, February 17.
The fundraiser will benefit the children’s hospital and its critical work in providing lifesaving care for children in northeastern New York and western New England.
Participating ShopRite stores include ShopRite of Albany, ShopRite of Colonie, ShopRite of Hudson, ShopRite of Niskayuna, ShopRite of North Greenbush and ShopRite of Slingerlands.
Organizers said the fundraiser will help provide pediatric specialists with the essential tools and technology to deliver the finest level of care to patients using the latest medical advances.
ShopRite has donated more than $66,000 to the children’s hospital since 2015, according to the release.

Officials with Albany Medical Center said that community support like this campaign helps to ensure that young patients can continue to receive the best possible care.
“We are grateful to ShopRite and its generous customers for the support they provide each year,” said Barbara E. Ostrov, M.D., director of the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital and the Martha Lepow, M.D., Endowed Chair in Pediatrics, in the release. “As the region’s only children’s hospital, the support from our community partners is a tremendous help in providing the best care possible for our young patients.”
