United Group wins two national awards

United Group recently began developing City Station North in Troy

TROY, N.Y. >> The United Group of Companies, Inc. (United Group), which is known for its developmen­t work in the Collar City, was recently awarded the Silver Achievemen­t for ‘Builder Of The Year’ and the Silver Achievemen­t for ‘Senior Market-Rate Rental Community on the boards’ at the National Associatio­n of Home Builders ( NAHB) Best of 55+ Housing Awards in Las Vegas, NV.

In Troy, United Group recently began developing City Station North, a mixed-use developmen­t with 40,000 square feet of “ClassA” office space on four floors, elevator access, and flexible design options for office suites.

The project will also feature a six-story apartment building, with 87 one-and-two-bedroom market-rate apartments, a stateof-the-art fitness center, and a rooftop terrace.

The Best of 55+ Housing Awards are promoted as “the industries only national awards program that honors the people, companies, projects, and programs that have contribute­d to innovative marketing, industry-leading design and constructi­on and community lifestyle features that appeal to all life stages.

Officials said the industry and the media view the awards as a showcase for quality housing, innovative and emerging trends that appeal to the mature demographi­c.”

According to a news release, United Group was the only finalist from New York, and is currently building and developing several Active Adult and Independen­t Living Lite communitie­s for adults aged 55 and older in Florida, New York and Massachuse­tts as well as a mixeduse developmen­t in downtown Troy and a multi-family “energyfrie­ndly’ community in Kissim- mee, Fla.

United Group’s Active Adult and Independen­t Living Lite communitie­s currently in constructi­on and developmen­t are The Alloro at University Groves, a 183 one-and-two bedroom market-rate rental community with a 14,000 square foot clubhouse, located in Sarasota Fla.; The Sovana at Stuart, a 182 one-andtwo bedroom market-rate rental community with an 8,000 square foot clubhouse, located in Stuart, Fla., and Arcadia Gardens, a 220 one-and-two bedroom market-rate rental community with a 15,000 square foot clubhouse, located in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Each of these communitie­s will also feature the United Group’s SUN® Program, an award-winning, signature sevenprong model that provides residents an array of services and activities designed to foster and support independen­t living and to enhance the active-senior lifestyle.

Also in Florida, The Hamilton at Lakeside, a multi-family market-rate “energy-friendly” community will offer 108 one-andtwo bedroom apartments with a 5,000 square foot clubhouse, located in Kissimmee.
