Two men charged with possession of illegal handgun
COLONIE, N.Y. >> Two local men were recently arrested for allegedly possessing a loaded illegal handgun, according to the
Colonie Police Department
Colonie police said they arrested, Scott P. Clark, 23, of Wat erv li et, and Zebadiah J. Jackson, 28, of Troy, for possessing a loaded illegal handgun.
Police said they received information about an illegal handgun, possibly being possessed by the occupants of a Green Honda CRV with Vermont Plates.
At 3:56 a.m., March 8, patrol officer Christopher A. Smith found the CRV in question in the parking lot of the Valley View Apartments in Colonie.
Shortly thereafter, at 4:43 a.m., officers stopped the two in the CRV in front 95 Johnson Road. Police said they detained both men without incident.
Police said they found a loaded
.45 Springfield XDS in the backseat.
According to police, the gun had seven rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber and also located was an additional magazine loaded with five rounds. Police are investigating where the handgun originated from.
Clark was charged with second- degree criminal possession of a weapon and two traffic infractions. Jackson was charged with second and third- degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both men were arraigned in Colonie Justice Court and sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
