‘Sasquatch Detective’ coming to Troy tonight

- By Record staff

TROY, N.Y. » Steve Kulls, a licensed private investigator based in Middle Grove, is coming to Troy on Aug. 1 to give a chat about his work as a “Sasquatch Detective” at the Franklin Alley Social Club.

Kulls has been featured on the History Channel’s “MonsterQuest” and “America’s Book of Secrets,” the National Geographic Channel series “Paranatural,” FOX News and in other major outlets. During next Thursday’s talk, he will present an overview of some of the greatest Bigfoot evidence found regionally, some of which he has personally uncovered.

“Locally, one of the most significant sightings was by a police officer out of Whitehall in 1976,” said Kulls of the mysterious cryptozoological creatures known as Sasquatch or Bigfoot. “There are areas I know where there are populations of them, about 15 miles from Whitehall.”

Like many people who follow Sasquatch stories, Kulls had believed that sightings were exclusive to the Pacific Northwest until he read the 1992 book “Monsters of the Northwoods,” which details 140 “incidents” in New York state and Vermont. Kulls has been searching for Bigfoot and analyzing evidence since 1998.

At his talk, which will last approximately an hour, Kulls will show some of the evidence he has uncovered doing his work, followed by a brief runthrough of Truth vs Fiction in the search for Sasquatch. Kulls will then open the floor to a question and answer session.

“Squatch Talk” starts at 7 pm and is free to attend, although attendees must be 21 or over. There will be a cash bar featuring $5 “squatcharitas.”
