James S. “Beeker” Washock, 74, of Sand Lake. Entered into eternal life on Sunday August 4, 2019 at the Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Born in Troy he was the son of the late Sigmund and Julia Hennessy Washock and the beloved husband of 40 years to Margaret Stenowich Washock. Mr. Washock served with the Sea Bee’s and also the U.S. Navy reserves for over 20 years. He had retired from BASF in Rensselaer after many years.

Jim was on the Board of Directors with the Capital Region Miracle League where he also volunteere­d his time coaching softball. He was a great fan of the Boston Reds Sox and the NY Giants and would often attend the yearly South Troy reunion at Kennedy’s Tavern.

In addition to his loving wife Marge, he is survived by his children; Eric Washock, Kyle (Ashley) Washock and Amy (Gregory) Spencer, his grandchild­ren; Oliver, Ben, Alison, Corey, Alexis, Zachary and Jack. He is also survived by his brother; Edward Washock and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predecease­d by his brothers Jack, Bob and Don Washock.

Funeral procession will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy to St. Joseph’s Church where at 9:30 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Capital Region Miracle League, 10 McDonald Lane, Rensselaer, NY 12144
