Halloween-themed Troy Night Out this Friday
TROY, N.Y. » October’s Troy Night Out, presented by the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District, is all about Mysteries and Mayhem.
This month’s Troy Night Out welcomes visitors to shop, dine and explore a ghoulish Downtown Troy. The event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 throughout the downtown district, featuring early trick- or-treating, and lots of specials and promotions from local businesses.
This month’s Troy Night Out theme is Mysteries and Mayhem, encouraging visitors to discover the scary and spooky stories of old Troy and celebrate the spirit of Halloween a bit early.
The annual Mysteries and Mayhem historical walking tour, presented in conjunction with the Rensselaer County Historical Society and The Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway, will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, or $10 for seniors 65 and older as well as students, available through the Downtown Troy BID website or Eventbrite. Tickets will be available for sale night of the event, as space allows.
For kids and kid-at-heart adults, many downtown businesses will be giving away
candy to trick- or-treaters. They include Artcentric Marketplace, Bespoki Bowl, The Counties of Ireland, Culinary Square, KPlate Korean BBQ, Pause Gallery, T and J Handmade Soaps, Tech Valley Center of Gravity and more.
Muddaddy Flats, Segel Violins & Art Gallery, 518 Prints and Kathleen’s Fiber Arts will all offer special promotions for costumed visitors as well.
Encouraging creativity, ideas and invention, The Enchanted City returns this Troy Night Out. River Street Market will host an event called “Fall in Steampunk: The Haunted Hedley.”
Attendees can also enjoy unique one- of-a-kind events, such as The MozART Group at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall and a film screening of “Dreams” alongside a live piano performance at the Troy Public Library.
The Broken Mold will hold an opening reception for its 2019 Student Show, celebrating inclusion and creative expression in clay.
The Ruck presents its second annual #BABBs (Badass Beer Babes) fundraiser for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Albany.
Guests can check out the ‘Haunted Halloween Takk House’ along with the ‘Franklinstein Halloween Dance Party’ at Franklin Alley Social Club downstairs.
The Arts Center of the Capital District joins in with “Monster Party II: Return of the Curse of the Living Ooze” art show, live painting, giveaways and more.
Troy Night Out is held from 5 to 9 p.m. on the last Friday of every month in downtown Troy.
