Man arrested on numerous drug-related charges
SCHODACK, N.Y. » State Police recently arrested a 22-yearold Schodack man on drugrelated charges.
Philip R. Cancelliere was charged with third- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first- degree criminal possession of marijuana, two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 7, State Police said they responded to an apartment in the town of Schodack after receiving reports that there was a fight between unknown parties at that location.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers said they made contact with Cancelliere who was residing at the apartment where the altercation was reported to have occurred.
According to troopers, Cancelliere had visible injuries and appeared to have been involved in a physical dispute. He was alone at the residence when patrols arrived.
While inside the residence, responding units noted they observed drugs and drug paraphernalia throughout the apartment.
Officials said a warrant for the home was obtained and troopers subsequently secured approximately 16.8 pounds of marijuana, as well as candies containing THC, 141 cartridges containing THC, a quantity of LSD, and multiple vials containing psilocybe cubensis.
Cancelliere was treated for his injuries at Albany Medical Center and subsequently arraigned in Schodack Town Court. He was released on his own recognizance.
