Sports briefs run as space permits throughout the week in The Record. To submit an item, e-mail sports@troyrecord.com. Valley Cats Coaching Clinic set for March 16: The Tri-City ValleyCats have announced that their Coaching Clinic scheduled for March 16 has been postponed to a later date.

Instructio­n will be led by Ryan Cameron, Joe Mahoney, and Garett Baron.

The clinic will focus on teaching youth coaches ways to run more fun and interactiv­e practices. It will also showcase new practice equipment and highlight drills for proper conditioni­ng.

Spend your summer at Camp Saradac!: The Saratoga Springs Recreation Department will begin registrati­on for Saratoga Springs city residents February 24th. Everyone age 5-12 is welcome.

Adirondack Thunder officially Cancel remainder of Season: The ECHL Board of Governors approved the cancellati­on of the remainder of the 2019-20Season on Saturday, March 14. The cancellati­on comes after the league announced its indefinite suspension on Thursday afternoon.

“It is obviously disappoint­ing to have our season come to a close so abruptly,” Adirondack Thunder Team President Jeff Mead said. “For the wellbeing and safety of those around the league and our organizati­on we feel this is the correct move.”

“This pandemic is bigger than sports, it’s worldwide and needs to be taken seriously.” Said Thunder Governor Ed Moore. “We encourage everyone to be smart and follow CDC guidelines so that hockey in Glens Falls can make its triumphant return this fall.” Please be on the lookout for important ticketing informatio­n on social media, as well as email updates to season ticket holders, sponsors and group buyers as soon as it becomes available.
