With 74 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, the county health department is able to announce another ten of those cases are now cleared of coronavirus and recovered.

The ten recoveries announced on Sunday follow eight recoveries announced last Thursday and six recoveries announced earlier last week, bringing the total of cases cleared for recovery at 24.

A new case has been confirmed to the Rensselaer County Health Department, it was announced on Sunday afternoon.

The newcase involves a 57-yearold female from Schodack.

There are 19 confirmed cases now in the hospital. The county health department currently has 279 unconfirmed cases in quarantine. Sadly, one death was announced last Thursday.

“We are obviously very happy to see another ten cases cleared for recovery as we continue to battle the COVID-19 outbreak. We hope this is a good sign and progress,” Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin said on Sunday.

McLaughlin once again urged residents to do their part and follow guidelines set by federal and state officials.

“Residents still need to be cautious, to practice social distancing, stay home as much as possible, wash their hands and stay positive. We need the public to be partners in stopping the spread,” McLaughlin said.
