Police probe shooting incidents
TROY, N.Y. » City police are currently investigating two recent shooting incidents.
One incident location is in the area of Jefferson Street and the Williams Street Alley ( just east of 4th Street), which happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Patrols responded to a call for shots fired and upon arrival, they found evidence of gunfire in the form of bullet casings.
Police said a house was struck by gunfire and there were no injuries to the occupants of the home.
A short time later, the Samaritan Hospital ED called police to report that a gunshot victim was at the hospital. The victim was uncooperative and did not provide any information regarding the shooting other than he confirmed that it occurred in the same location of the shots fired call, police said.
Evidence Technicians processed the scene and detectives have been assigned to the case.
Meanwhile, around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday police responded to another shooting incident in the area of River Street between Smith Avenue and Glen Avenue.
Police said the victim in that incident arrived by a personal vehicle at St. Mary’s Urgent Care and was treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to police, the victim was transported to Albany Medical Center.
There are no suspects for either incident.
