EXPERTS NEXT DOOR SERIES: A live, interactive critique of specific beers will be offered to the public over Zoom, to raise funds for the Saratoga County History Center, located at Brookside in Ballston Spa. The second in “Experts Next Door” will be Kathleen Royka of the Thymely Herb group, who will provide a workshop on gardening with herbs at 7pm on July 9. Skidmore professor, Dr. Tillman Nechtman will follow with a discussion on July 23at 7pm based on his research on Britain’s use of the ocean as a world power. DAM THAT CREEK: Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site is offering online programs this month that will include a presentation by Derrick Pratt of the Erie Canal Museum. The first will be on Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:30pm as the site will provide an online program titled, “Dam that Creek!” This program will discuss the first dam across the Schoharie Creek for the Erie Canal and how it provided a means for barges to navigate through its waters. Schoharie Crossing is offering this slate of online programs while the Visitor Center is closed during the COVID-19crisis. During NY on PAUSE, the Erie Canal historic site will provide programs through Webex as well as other online programs and social media such as Facebook Live. BASEBALL ON THE ERIE CANAL: Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site is offering online programs this month

ART EXHIBIT: Hudson Hall is proud to reopen its doors on June 27, 2020with Rodney Alan Greenblat’s aptly-titled, Something to Look Forward to, an enjoyable, whimsical and engaging collection of new and archival works bursting with color and underpinned with wit and charm. The exhibition, which runs until August 23in Hudson Hall’s Center Hall Gallery and Common Council Room, is free and open to the public on a limited, timed entry, reservation- only basis (maximum 10entries per hour). Socially- distanced guided tours ($10, free for members, maximum of 6 per tour) take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 4pm. Exhibition reservations and tour tickets are now on sale to Hudson Hall members and open to the public on June 18. Tickets can be purchased and time entry reservations can be made at hudsonhall.org.
