Albany County confirms 3cases

ALBANY, N.Y. » Albany County Executive Dan McCoy provided the latest numbers pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic in the county.

As of Monday morning, there have been 1,893 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Albany County, an increase of three since Sunday. Additional­ly, there are 176 people under mandatory quarantine. Under the new state tracking system, there is no longer a precaution­ary quarantine distinctio­n, and all quarantine­s are tracked together.

The five- day average for new daily positive cases is now 5.4. There are currently 31 active cases of COVID-19. So far, 5,724 individual­s have completed quarantine, with 1,862 of them having tested positive and recovered.

Presently four people hospitaliz­ed, unchanged from Sunday, and the hospitaliz­ation rate remains at 0.21%. One person remains in the In

tensive Care Unit ( ICU). There have been no new deaths reported since last Wednesday. The confirmed COVID-19 linked death toll for Albany County stands at 121.

Even though takeout has been available during COVID-19 and restaurant­s are open for limited dining, many have used the time during the quarantine to perfect their favorite home-cooked meals and continue to stay home to prepare them for their families.
