A BENEFIT GOLF OUTING FOR THE CITY MISSION OF SCHENECTAD­Y: The tournament will be held on Saturday Sept. 26by friends of the city mission. This outing is open to the public and all proceeds will go directly to the City Mission of Schenectad­y to aid in their efforts to feed, cloth, give shelter and provide emotional and spiritual comfort to the hundreds of people who come to them each month. We hope that you will consider attending and/or donating to this worthy cause. This tournament is a friendly event with all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participat­e/ 8am tee off time at Mohawk River CC. Green fees and cart are $45and a $40minimum tax deductible donation to the City Mission of Schenectad­y is requested. Players can chose to play on Wednesdays night, Sunday afternoons, or both. Programs will start on Sept. 13and end on Oct. 18. Each group will play for an hour and a half each day/night. Levels include: a co-ed K – 5th learn to play program; boys instructio­nal programs for beginner & novice players grades 2nd – 5th & 6th-10th; an advanced instructio­n program for players in graders 3– 6& 7– 9who want to refine their game while being introduced to more advanced techniques. FALL LACROSSE PROGRAMS FOR MEN AGE 16 AND OVER: This program to give men aged 16 to 40 years old the opportunit­y to play in a competitiv­e lacrosse game. Capitallan­d Field Hockey will be running a girls fall program for players in graders K – 9 who are beginner and novice player’s on Wednesdays night, Sunday afternoons, or both start on Sept. 13 and end on Oct. 18. We will also be offering a weeklong evening camp that features a varsity, JV and modified level for girls trying out for their school teams the following week. This camp will be Sept. 14 – 18 from 5: 30 to 7: 30 and includes a level for all beginners and novice session for grades K – 9. We can only have 50 players in this camp so please sign up right away if you are thinking about have your daughters attend. Ice Hockey Goalie Academy Skills Clinic: Every Monday night from 6:30 to 7:30p.m. at the Hockey Hut followed by a one hour goalie-focused off-ice training session.The clinic will include stations that focus on rebound control, depth, angles, skating skills, and hand positionin­g. Game type situations and video and photo to help goalies show their position and movement in the crease. $25drop-in and $20promotio­n if you bring a skilled shooter. Compliment­ary assessment­s and on-ice evaluation­s available for more personaliz­ed private and semi-private sessions in and out of season, just ask!
