Shen’s DeMura named New York Class AA Player of the year

Shaker’s Brehm named Coach of the Year

TROY, NY » New York State and the NYSSCOGS recently named their All- State teams along with their coaches of year Monday morning and Section II was full represente­d.

Leading the way was Sophia DeMura who was named the New York State Player of the Year at Class AA. Shaker’s Mike Brehm also earned honors as Coach of the Year at Class AA. The Class AA All-State First team included DeMura and Shaker’s Maya Wheeler. On the second team Wheeler’s teammate Bella Tronco was named alongside Guilderlan­d’s Molly DiCaprio.

Other Section II standouts named to All- State teams were Averill Park’s Merry Gaylord, Maple Hill’s Alayna

Fletcher, and Burnt Hill’s Ella Blesi.
