1. What is your background and why did you create the Marriage Retreat in a Box?

I co-own a management consulting firm with my business partner, Julie Bush, who is also the co-creator of this product. A central part of our consulting work is helping leaders develop strong partnerships, psychological safety and cohesion with their teams to transform how they work to accelerate their results. Not surprisingly, the challenges leaders face can extend into their home and family lives, and they often ask for our help in those areas.

When my husband, Jon, and I blended our families. We each had three children, and then had one more. Even with similar parenting styles, bringing up many children together was ... a lot! Just as leaders need time to be intentional about elevating their capacity, Jon and I needed time together to envision and plan who we would be as a couple, as parents, and how we would run a busy household together. Finding time to attend a scheduled retreat was difficult (who wants to babysit 7 children!). So, we began planning our own marriage retreats for anytime, anywhere.

2. What is a Marriage Retreat in a Box?

The Marriage Retreat in a Box is a new way for couples to enrich their relationships, strengthen their communication and bring even more fun and adventure into their lives. Each Marriage Retreat in a Box includes everything a couple needs to have their own marriage retreat on their own time, in their own unique way. Through engaging exercises, learning moments, powerful

questions, and conversation starters, couples are led toward the conversations that help shape the most important parts of their lives together.

3. How does the product work?

The Marriage Retreat in a Box comes with two guidebooks to facilitate the retreat, conversation starters to spark connection, and note cards to acknowledge and share loving messages with one another.

Couples (re)connect and (re)build their communication patterns through important exercises in five key areas: communication, conflict, finance, adventure and romance. No matter how much or little time couples have for a retreat, there are many ways couples can use The Marriage Retreat in a Box. It can be done on a weekend away, or over time on date nights at home, over a cup of coffee at breakfasta couple can truly complete the retreat however it works best for their own lives.
