Sunday, Sept. 5 FREE CUTS FOR KIDS:

On Sunday, September 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. newly opened Capital District Barbershop Lounge, located at 370 Northern Blvd, Albany in Loudon Plaza, will host Free Cuts For Kids ahead of the upcoming school year. MAKE IT UP STATE MARKETPLAC­E:

After an eightweek winter inaugural season indoors in Lansingbur­gh, Make It Up State, a local business developmen­t organizati­on, has moved outdoors to celebrate warmer weather along the Hudson River and local, regional producers of goods, food, music, art, and more. The Make It Up State Riverfront Marketplac­e will run every Sunday from 9am — 2pm in Troy’s Riverfront Park through mid-October, excluding July 4th. With a rotating lineup of over 50 vendors, meaning each week will be different, organizers say there is something for everyone.The park’s main lot will be open for public parking. Wednesday, Sept. 8 GRAFTON MERRYMAKER­S:

The September meeting for the Grafton merrymaker­s will take place on Wednesday, September 8th the Everett Wager Senior Center in Grafton, NY. We will start with dinner at 5:30 pm. We will be having subs for dinner. Everyone is asked to bring their own utensils (plates , cups, etc,) and their own drinks. Following dinner our meeting will start at 6:15PM. Saturday, Sept. 11

9⁄11 CEREMONY OF REMEMBRANC­E: At 10 am on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, located at 200Duell Rd. in Schuylervi­lle will host a ceremony in remembranc­e of the attack on Sept., 11 2011. This event is to honor the victims of that day, as well as those who have lost their lives in the years since due to health issues from working on the rescue and recovery efforts. We also honor those who served in the military and made the ultimate sacrifice. Several of these men and women are interred in this cemetery. HISTORICAL TOURS: On September 11, 2021 the Lansingbur­gh Historical Society will open the Melville House for tours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We will also have a display of artifacts from the Boradaile which was the country residence, high on the hill overlookin­g Lansingbur­gh, of George W. Daws. The cost was over $100,000 back in 1887. (Perhaps $2.5 million in 2017 dollars) Also present to answer questions will be Helen Mancuso. Mrs. Mancuso is the daughter of the owners of the Boradaile when it was a beautiful, elegant restaurant. The Melville House is located at 2 — 114th St., Troy, NY 12182. A $5. donation will be appreciate­d.

REPTILE EXPO: The Saratoga Reptile Expo is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11at the Saratoga Springs City Center. The expo will offer its largest selection of animals and supplies to date. More than 130 vendor tables will be set up, including about 60 breeders from all over the East Coast selling captive bred and long-term captive reptiles, amphibians, small exotic mammals, invertebra­tes (primarily arachnids, mantids, and leaf bugs), and feeders, as well as enclosures and care items for these animals. An education room will feature hands-on learning opportunit­ies with zoologists and profession­al educators. Here, guest speakers will give presentati­ons on various topics throughout the day. Presale tickets are being sold in hourly blocks to restrict the crowd to 50% of the capacity of the venue. Limited tickets may be available for sale at the door in accordance with Department of Health guidelines as of the day of the event. However, anyone interested in attending is encouraged to preorder tickets. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages six to 13, and admission for children age five and younger is free. CHEESE TOUR: The Washington County Cheese Tour with Wine, Beer & Cider is back after being cancelled last year because of the pandemic. The annual Cheese Tour is on the weekend after Labor Day — Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12 in 2021 — from 10 am to 4 pm. The outdoor tour is self-guided. Adventurer­s gather their friends and family to travel the twists and turns of Washington County’s country roads to visit four cheesemake­rs, a farm winery, a craft farmstead brewery and a farm cidery during the weekend event. There is no admission fee for The Tour. Limited free product samples will be provided and a full range of product samples will be available for a nominal fee. New to The Cheese Tour this year is Slyboro Ciderhouse located in Granville at the site
