Malta Food Fest planned for today at TEC-SMART
MALTA, N.Y. » The third annual Malta Food Fest, formerly known as Taste of Malta, is back again to support innovative programs in the Ballston Spa Central School District.
The event is scheduled for today at Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART facility, located at 345 Hermes Rd. in Malta. Similar to last year’s festival, it will be a grab-and-go format with pickup times available from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Diners will receive a sampling of offerings from a variety of local restaurants in Malta, Ballston Spa and surrounding communities. The dinners will be packaged to be enjoyed at home.
Tickets should be purchased in advance online at www.simpletix.com/e/3rd-annual-maltafood-fest-tickets-82534, and participants will select a pick-up time.
Each ticket is $30 and will include enough to feed a family of four with a full cheese pizza, restaurant accompaniments and dessert.
Participating restaurants and businesses include Pizza Works, Bowled, The Hideaway, The Ugly Rooster-Malta and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
A silent auction of gift baskets, donated items and gift certificates will also be held virtually as part of the evening’s activities. Details will be posted on Dec. 6 along with the link to the online auction.
The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce partners with the Ballston Spa Central School District and Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART to present the Malta Food Fest annually.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the school district’s Ballston Spa Partnership for Innovation in Education Fund and the many programs and initiatives it financially supports. This includes the Community Literacy Campaign, Ballston Spa Sponsor-A-Scholar, Scotties Backpack Program, STEM enrichment programs, Robotics, the Alumni Network and the Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries Early College High School implemented in collaboration with Hudson Valley Community College.
