H2M hosts RPI students and faculty in Troy office
H2M architects + engineers have been building communities for 90 years and has been serving in the Capital Region since 2016. The firm recently hosted students and faculty from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in their Troy, office to help them learn about career paths and opportunities within the A/E/C industry.
The event featured speeches from H2M’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Liz Uzzo, and Troy Office Director Katrina Pacheco. The more than 35 students in attendance mingled with H2M staff to learn about their individual career paths and to get a better understanding of what it means to work at a design consulting firm like H2M.
“Here at H2M we welcome the opportunity to bring in young talent from prestigious universities such as RPI,” Uzzo said in a recent news release. “With our internship applications officially opening for the Summer of 2023, we were pleased to see these students taking a proactive approach in their future careers.”
Many of H2M’s staff across all offices are alumni of RPI, including Katrina Pacheco and several other staff members out of H2M’s Troy office. Ms. Pacheco is also an adjunct professor at RPI, along with her husband David Pacheco, AIA, Director of Operations at H2M.
The students were enthralled in conversation with the many H2Mers in attendance, many taking the lead to introduce themselves to the H2M staff and asking questions about their careers. H2M is proud to support budding talent from all universities and colleges.
“An important factor in our growth within the Capital Region is inviting the top talent from local universities and colleges to help them understand the career possibilities here at H2M,” said Pacheco. “We have already hired several RPI alumni in our Troy office, including a few recent graduates from the 2022 class. We look forward to continuing this relationship for years to come,” she continued.
