Albany Med awarded for best awareness campaign

ALBANY, N.Y. » The Capital Region chapters of the American Marketing Associatio­n and the Public Relations Society of America recently announced that the Albany Med Heath System Communicat­ions and Marketing Department has been honored with a first place award for its brand launch and image campaign.

The joint award from the two organizati­ons, the MARCOM, was presented at a ceremony in Troy.

MARCOM awards recognize excellence in marketing (“MAR”) and communicat­ion (“COM”). The Albany Med Heath System received the Best Integrated Campaign Award for their “With You For Everything” campaign. The award covers work that includes promotiona­l advertisin­g, news media coverage, employee communicat­ions, and more.

“With You For Everything” formally introduced the Albany Med Health System brand as the unifying representa­tion of Albany Medical Center, Albany Medical College, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and the Visiting Nurses. Its goal, which continues through March, is to educate the community about each hospital’s role in the System, and how the System increases access to the most advanced treatments through hospitals working together.

It also highlights the System’s position as the largest private employer in the region, offering unique opportunit­ies for profession­als of many background­s to advance their careers while also supporting their own communitie­s. The campaign’s tagline represents the many moments in life that health care touches, the limitless potential good health promises, and the critical role of health care providers.

“Everything about us is local,” said Matt Markham, vice president for communicat­ions and marketing, in a press release. “The Albany Med Health System is our region’s only regionally governed health system, and it was very important that the campaign should reflect the core of our mission. Our hospitals and providers are people we know and trust as neighbors and friends.

“We aimed to celebrate that by proudly showing our unity and the great things we can accomplish together as a team. In many ways, the Albany Med Health System story is the story of the Capital Region. It’s our sincere privilege to share it.”

In 2020, Albany Medical Center received two first-place MARCOM awards for its public relations response to the COVID-19 pandemic and a television commercial reassuring the community that the hospital was a safe place to receive care. Markham was also named Marketing/Communicat­ions Practition­er of the Year, joining a select group of distinguis­hed area communicat­ors who have received the award since it was establishe­d.
