The suspects fled the scene and the victim immediately summoned police. A highrisk traffic stop was conducted, due to weapons having been reportedly involved in the initial incident, and all of the occupants of the vehicle were detained without any further incident.
Detectives interviewed each and developed the probable cause necessary for arrest, the release said. A subsequent search warrant conducted on the suspect’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of two loaded, illegal handguns, one that contained an extended magazine. All three suspects were arrested, charged and held for arraignment in Troy City Court.

and teamwork amongst several agencies, the release said. The Troy Police Patrol & Detective Divisions shared information & resources that positively impacted the successful outcome. Additionally, the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center and the Guilderland Police also played significant roles and aided Troy PD Detectives throughout the investigation.
“We are extremely grateful for both agencies’ involvement in these efforts,” Barker said in the release. “The group came together in pursuit of individuals who preyed on a victim using software commonly used by many throughout our community.
