College to host series of career skills workshops
WINSTED >> Northwestern Connecticut Community College will be holding a series of career workshops next month, allowing those interested to learn about valuable professional and life skills free of charge.
The workshops, which have been organized by the college Center for Workplace Development, will be held on campus each Tuesday and Thursday afternoons next month, beginning Sept. 1, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Founders Hall Annex, Room 112.
Sample topics for some of the workshops to be held include: “Skills for the Workplace,” “Resume Writing,” “Living Within Your Means,” “Writing a Cover Letter,” “Finding Money to Save” and “Reducing Debt.”
Those that would like to take part in the series of workshops are not required to attend each and every session — they are, instead, available on an individual basis.
More information, as well as a complete schedule of the upcoming workshops, is available on the Northwestern Connecticut Community College website.
Although the workshops are to be free and open to the public, those interested are asked to register beforehand, as space in the room is limited.
Prospective participants can do this by calling 860738-6419, and leaving their name, phone number, and the dates of the workshops that they would like to attend.
As described on the NCCC website, “the mission of the Center for Workforce Development (CWD) is to provide educational opportunities that assist individuals to connect lifelong learning to employment.”
