Donations, volunteers needed for back to school drive

TORRINGTON >> The Torrington Early Childhood Collaborat­ive (TECC) will hold its 8th annual Junior Dress for Success Free Back to School Clothing and School Supply event Aug. 13at the Torrington Armory, 153 South Main St., Torrington, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The organizati­on is now accepting donations of new and gently used clothing (3T-16) and back packs. Adult sizes in teen styles only. These donations may be brought to Doyle’s Medical Supply, 25 Coe Place, Torrington, or to the Torrington Armory on Aug. 13, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

If you or an organizati­on you are a part of would like to support this event, or volunteer either for the Community Fold on Aug. 12 or the day of the event, it would be greatly appreciate­d. For monetary donations to purchase clothing and backpacks, checks can be made payable to TECC’s fiscal agent: Education Connection and mailed to Education Connection, P.O. Box 909, Litchfield, CT 06759 Attn. Orie Sullivan. Donations for a new undergarme­nts can be made online at GoFundMe.com/JunDressFo­rSuccess, an initiative sponsored by the Northweste­rn Region 7 High School Kindness in Motion Grant Program. This initiative is a partnershi­p of the Torrington Early Childhood Collaborat­ive , Baroco, Community Systems Inc. and the Torrington Police Department’s Chief’s Community Action Council.
