Don’t miss the Litchfield County 4-H Fair
GOSHEN >> The Litchfield County 4-H Fair returns to the Goshen Fairgrounds, Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31
4-H’ers from throughout the county will be showing their animals and other projects. There is a wide variety of contests, from skillet throwing to cowboy mounted shooting. 4-H member Jackie Johnson (Winchester) says her favorite part of the 4-H Fair is celebrating the hard work and dedication of all the members.
“I love the atmosphere of the 4-H Fair, and how everyone is around to have fun, help each other and make the best better,” said Mikaela Schneider of Morris.
Along with the traditional cattle, rabbit, sheep, dog, horse, goat, poultry and swine shows, the robotics club will have demonstrations in the home show area that highlights the baking, sewing, gardening and craft exhibits.
New this year, the fair is hosting the Connecticut Renegades Cowboy Mounted Shooters club. They will demonstrate their sport Sunday July 31 at 11 a.m. in the “square“ring.
Friends, family, and fun mixed with lively competition highlight the event.
When asked what they liked best about the 4-H Fair here is what another member had to say.
“I love the fact that the Litchfield County 4-H Fair is such a small connected fair that everyone pretty much knows every member. We cheer each other on and we work together as one huge 4-H family to make sure everyone has fun,” said Mackenzie Joray of Goshen.
The Litchfield County 4-H Fair is open to the public from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission and parking are free. No dogs allowed (except service animals).
