Oct. 28-30: The Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education (WTCAE) will present the sensitive and masterful play, ELEEMOSYNARY, in the Warner’s Nancy Marine Studio Theatre October 2830, 2016.
Directed by professional theatre veteran Will Osborne and starring Warner Theatre Director of Education Isabel Carrington, WTCAE Alumna Emily Creighton, and local favorite Sarah Tames, the play is a multigenerational character study that explores the delicate – and often difficult — relationships between three generations of women from an eccentric and extraordinary family.
The title of the play comes from a word rarely heard outside of spelling bees that means “of, related to, or supported by charity.” During the course of the play, the three characters – strong willed, eccentric grandmother, Dorothea; her estranged, brilliant daughter, Artie; and Artie’s intellectually gifted daughter, Echo -- struggle to find a charitable way to relate to one another and bridge many years of alienation and estrangement. Performances are Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 860-489-7180 or online at warnertheatre.org
Proceeds from each performance will benefit the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education’s enrichment programs.
