Solarize Barkhamsted draws 14 contracts
Solarize Barkhamsted announced the results of its 18-week program.
BARKHAMSTED >> Solarize Barkhamsted, a town- and statesponsored program with an innovative approach to dramatically increasing the amount of residential solar, announced the results of its 18-week program. Barkhamsted saw a total of 14 contracts signed with 142 kW of solar to be installed.
To get the same environmental impact, a town would have to remove 650 cars off the road over the next 25 years or plant 8,070 trees.
First Selectman Don Stein said he was pleased with the success of the campaign.
“We are quite pleased with the results of the Solarize program in Barkhamsted, which enabled those residents interested in the benefits of installing solar on their homes to accomplish their goal of reducing costs and environmental emissions, all at a lower cost to the homeowner,” he said.
While Solarize Barkhamsted is formally closed, those who are interested in solar may still sign up to get a no-cost evaluation to see if their home is good for solar at solarizeCT.com.
