Artists collaborate for 11th annual event at White Silo Farm & Winery

-

SHERMAN >> Wine, Women and Art, a multi-media art exhibit and sale, returns for its 11th year at the White Silo Farm and Winery, from Friday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 25. This popular event will feature the newest works by award-winning artists in the pastoral setting of Sherman, Connecticut. A special reception will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, 1-4 p.m., which is open to the public.

The creativity of four Connecticut artists, Ann Kromer, Adele Moros, Judith Secco, and Judith Taylor will harmonize into a dynamic artistic experience for art enthusiasts and collectors. On exhibit and for sale will be a brand new selection of acrylic, oil, and watercolor paintings, as well as archival photography, pottery and jewelry.

Ann Kromer of Ridgefield is a en plein air painter, whose preference is to paint outdoors where she can capture the subtle changes in light. Her landscapes have won numerous awards, including Rockport Publishers “Best of Acrylic Paintings” and “Best of Oil Paintings.” Kromer has exhibited at the National Arts Club and Salmagundi Club in New York City, and her work has appeared in American Artist magazine as well as in Splash 8 and Splash 9.

Bethel painter Adele Moros is a multi-media artist whose work varies from miniatures to murals, portraits, still life, and landscapes. Moros has taught painting for over 30 years, has won many awards, and her work is included in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections, including the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kentucky. Slides of her “Tiffany Cow” are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has permanent exhibits at Fine Line Art Gallery in Woodbury, Gallery 25 in New Milford, and she is President of SCAN, the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown.

Judith Secco, a native of Connecticut’s northwest corner, has been an avid self-taught photographer all of her life. Her images embrace both photography and fine art by portraying nature in a unique and artistic way. Secco has won numerous awards for her work, which has been shown and collected throughout New England. She has permanent exhibits at Fine Line Art Gallery in Woodbury and Gallery 25 in New Milford.

The fourth artist in the show is former soloist with American Ballet Theater, Judith (Lerner) Taylor, who continues to express the joy of movement through her unique ceramic creations: Earth Dances. Taylor’s award-winning work has been exhibited in New Jersey and Connecticut and is part of numerous private collections. She has permanent exhibits at the Avancé Day Spa in Newtown, the Jewelry Café in Southbury, and on her website at EarthdancesPottery.com.

This diverse and magnificent collection of artwork will be on exhibit in the art gallery at the White Silo Farm and Winery, located at 32 Route 37 East in Sherman. The gallery is open new hours this year: Fridays from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day, 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. For further information, call 860-355-0271, or visit www.whitesilowinery. com/.
