The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, Inc., is a private foundation created in 1998 by DeLuca, who “understood the importance of helping others in their endeavors, as he was given help when starting his neighborhood restaurant business in Bridgeport 50 years ago, with a $1,000 loan from a family friend, Dr. Peter Buck,” according to a press release.
The company was founded 50 years ago by DeLuca, 17 at the time, and Buck.
