Connectictut Realtors endorse Craig Miner
LITCHFIELD >> State Rep. Craig Miner (R66th), has been endorsed by the Connecticut REALTORS in his race to represent the 30th State Senate District. In their endorsement, members said that Miner is the best candidate to “ensure there is a positive environment for living in or transferring property in Connecticut,” according to a press release.
“It is an honor to receive the endorsement of the Connecticut REALTORS,” Miner said in a written statement. “One of my goals as a State Senator is to make Connecticut a more attractive and comfortable place to live and the REALTORS recognize that.” Miner Continued, “members of the Connecticut REALTORS are our neighbors and friends and that makes this endorsement even more special.”
The Connecticut REALTORS represent 16,000 members in Connecticut.
Miner is running to represent the 30th district state senate seat, which covers 14 in Northwest Connecticut, Brookfield, Canaan, Cornwall, Goshen, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Milford, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Torrington, Warren, and Winchester. Before being elected to the House of Representatives, he was Litchfield’s First Selectman. He has served the 66th district for eight terms.
The 30th Senate District seat is being vacated by Clark Chapin of New Milford, who was elected to the Senate in November 2014 after representing New Milford for 12 years in the House of Representatives.
He followed Republican Sen. Andrew Roraback of Goshen, who held the Senate seat from 2000 to 2012. Roraback ran for the 5th Congressional District in 2012, and was defeated by Democrat Elizabeth Esty. Roraback is now a Superior Court Judge.
