GRANBY » Torrington’s girls volleyball team (191) claimed revenge for its only regular-season loss with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 26-24) sweep at Granby Memorial Thursday evening.

A month ago, at Torrington, the Bears (15-4) came from four points behind, winning the final game of a five-game battle.

Thursday, the Red Raiders turned the tide behind Jayleen Colon (21 assists, 1 kill, 56 digs); Carissa Carbone (11 kills, 16 digs); Candyce Jewett (7 digs, 1 ace); Ali DuBois (2 kills, 4 digs, 2 aces; and Jolie Fox (4 kills, 3 blocks, 2 digs).

Cailin Tennis had 16 assists for Granby.

Wednesday Girls Volleyball

TERRYVILLE 3, HOUSATONIC 0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-21) » Martina Rovato led the Kangaroos at Terryville High School with 13 kills, an ace and a block.

Other major Terryville contributo­rs were Victoria Barbou (3 kills, 4 digs, 1 assist); Alicia Calabrese (26 assists, 1 dig, 3 kills, 1 ace); and Alyssa Prozzo (9 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs).

Megan Baldesseri (1 ace); Autumn Freudenber­g (2 kills, 2 blocks); and Margaret Riccardell­i (7 kills, 1 ace) stood out for Housy. TORRINGTON 3, WATERTOWN ) (25-13, 25-4, 25-13) » Jayleen Colon (18 assists, 1 kill); Sara Bardwell (5 kills, 1 block); and Courtney Cappabianc­a helped the Red Raiders made short work of the Indians at Torrington High School.

Mary Zaborowski (7 digs, 4 kills, 2 blocks); Caleigh Dodge (7 digs, 1 kill); and Jenna Bourassa (8 digs, 10 assists) led Watertown (4-16). LEWIS MILLS 3, KENNEDY 2 (25-15, 18-25, 24-25, 25-23, 15-11) » The Spartans (116) climbed out of a 2-1 hole at Lewis Mills High School behind Arlee Twitchell (33 assists, 3 aces, 10 digs); Haley Tharau (13 kills, 22 digs); and Sarah Wall (18 digs.

Eagles Carson Delaney (30 assists); Joyce Benton (9 kills, 7 blocks); and Shelly Evia (17 kills, 15 blocks) made it a tough climb.

Kennedy is 15-5.

Field Hockey

CATERBURY 6, GREENS FARMS ACADEMY 2 » Anna Orlando scored three times for Canterbury (9-3-1) at Greens Farms, Connecticu­t. Sara Bouwman scored twice and Emily Martino added another goal.

Orlando, Victoria Body, Martino, Sophie Menges and Julia DellaRusso had assists.

Laila Pina and Lucy Holzinger put Green Farms (4-8) on the board with an assist from Chloe Messina.
