Katie Kat to hold album release concert
TORRINGTON >> Katie Kat is an Opera-preneur — a performer who has taken an entrepreneurial view of the operatic arts.
Katie Kat received vocal training at the Spoletto Vocal Arts Symposium in Spoleto, Italy and received her Masters in Classical Vocal Performance at NYU. She has performed musical theater in addition to operas and often the venues were in New York City. But this weekend, Kat is performing in Torrington to celebrate the creation of a unique and special project.— the release of Dvorak’s Love Songs, her first full album. The album release party and concert will be held at the extraordinary Studio59 Live Arts at 59 Barber Street, Torrington on Saturday, March 25 at 8 p.m.
Studio59 Live Arts is the perfect venue for Kat’s operatic and artistic style. A beautiful church converted into an 18th century drawing room and parlor that brings a European style salon performance environment to Northwest Connecticut, Studio 59 is tailormade for Katie Kat’s talents and resume.
Katie Kat has performed in salons, in front of orchestras, at Lincoln Center’s Rubenstein Atrium, the Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto, Italy and in a wide variety of venues. Katie Kat clearly excels when she enjoys the personal connection with her audience in a more intimate setting that Studio 59 provides. Katie Kat will be accompanied by Timothy Alexandre Wallace, founder of Studio 59 Live Arts.
Dvorak’s Love Songs cycle has a fascinating and biographical story to tell. Through this cycle Dvorak speaks through the centuries to every listener, providing not only a glimpse into his prowess of musical composition, but also shedding light on the muse of his creative process.
