Grant applicatio­n deadlines set for funding

SHEFFIELD, MA >> Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation today announced the second round of deadlines for competitiv­e grants in 2017. Regional nonprofits, students and school communitie­s are invited to apply for funding during the spring grants cycle from April through June.

Nonprofits: The Wassermann-Streit Y’diyah Memorial Fund supports educationa­l projects about Judaism that aim to dispel religious prejudice, bias and intoleranc­e. Grants of $500 will be awarded. Applicatio­ns are due April 1.

Students: The Andrea Wagner Women in Science Scholarshi­p Fund awards $1,500 scholarshi­ps to female residents of northwest Litchfield County who are currently enrolled at a fouryear college and majoring in natural or physical science or engineerin­g. Applicatio­ns are due April 1.

The Arts Fund for Region One provides scholarshi­ps to students of Canaan, Cornwall, Kent, North Canaan, Salisbury or Sharon who are interested in artsrelate­d programs. Grants of up to $500 will be awarded. Applicatio­ns are due May 1.

The Ferris Burtis Scholarshi­p Fund sponsors graduating high school seniors who have been accepted at a conservato­ry or school of music. Grants of $2,000 will be awarded. Applicatio­ns are due April 1.

The George H. and Lucille E. Buterbaugh Scholarshi­p Fund awards $1,150 annually to graduating seniors who are residents of Salisbury. Applicatio­ns are due April 1.

The Tabor Foundation Fund supports residents of northwest Litchfield County who plan to undertake education or training in a field of health care and to seek employment in their community afterwards. Grants of up to $4,000 will be awarded. Applicatio­ns are due June 30.

The Teddy Lee Drumm Memorial Scholarshi­p Fund awards $1,500 annually to residents of Sharon who have been accepted at an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or profession­al institute, as well as prior Drumm recipients. Applicatio­ns are due April 1.

School communitie­s: The Region One Athletic Fund helps students maintain a healthy lifestyle by supporting programs that give students the opportunit­y to compete in their chosen sport or physical activity. Grants of up to $500 will be awarded. Applicatio­ns are due May 1.
