Musselman, a contemporary folk artist and Falls Village resident, was born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, OH. As a teenager, he took Saturday morning classes at the Cooper School of Art. Otherwise, he is a self-taught artist. In the US Navy his talents were acknowledged after he painted murals in the base’s public spaces — he was given work illustrating technical manuals. Ken’s artistic talent has served him well as a working artist including designing beach t-shirts, ads and commercial catalogs, and his own work in prints and cards at kenmusselman.com.
Musselman paints in his home studio at the Falls Village Railroad Station. On his easel at any given time, you may find a rustic barn scene or wild animals at a pondside picnic, someone’s favorite island bar, vintage automobiles in a scene of Jacobs Garage in 1958 or a pop culture icon. Armed with pen or brush, Ken goes each day where his musings take him.
Musselman’s work can be seen at kenmusselman.com. Sales from this exhibit benefit the David M. Hunt Library.
