Groups participating in Give Local campaign
TORRINGTON >> The Northwest Connecticut Arts Council is taking part in the Connecticut Community Foundation’s fifth consecutive Give Local: Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills online giving event. This year, Give Local begins on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 a.m. and ends on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. Many organizations are taking part in this event, and donors can check a nonprofit’s website to find out how to support them.
When donors visit artsnwctgive.org to make a donation to the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council during this 36-hour pe-
riod their donations will be increased with bonus funds provided by the Connecticut Community Foundation and Give Local sponsors.
“Give Local has not only offered us an opportunity to raise funds, but has helped us reach new donors who are supportive of the arts in our region. The campaign also allows us to be part of a community-wide awareness effort focused on a variety of valued nonprofits as well as the Connecticut Community Foundation’s role in our region,” said Amy Wynn, executive director of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council, in a written statement.
In addition to funds donated during Give Local, the arts council will be eligible for cash bonus prizes during the campaign. The Northwest Connecticut Arts Council is supported in part by the DECD/Connecticut Office of the Arts, the Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut, and the Connecticut Community Foundation.

The Morris Land Trust is also participating in Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills. It is the organization’s only scheduled 2017 fundraising event.
Supporters can make an online donation at https://givelocalccf.org/npo/morris-land-trust. The Morris Land Trust will receive 94 percent of all donations made. In addition, all donations will be amplified by funds raised by CCF. Last year the land trust reported that it raised $2,611, helped by a 12.1 percent amplification rate.
Donors can go online in advance to schedule a gift at www. GiveLocalCCF.org and on all of the nonprofit profile pages. Prescheduled gifts will be processed April 25-26.
