Local Lion opens Farmers Insurance Agency

SOUTHINGTO­N >> Dan DiVirgilio, a former Torrington resident and long-time Torrington Lions Club member, has opened the new Farmers Insurance Dan DiVirgilio Agency LLC at 1460 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in Southingto­n. Working with DiVirgilio is licensed producer Janice Mitchell-Smith of Bridgeport, licensed producer/ marketing Kathy Reynolds of Goshen, social media consultant Derek Clark of Bristol, and DiVirgilio’s granddaugh­ter Lauren Rose of Wolcott, office assistant.

DiVirgilio has been a member of the Torrington Lions Club for over 20 years and is known to get very involved in the communitie­s where he lives and works. President of the Farmers Insurance Dan DiVirgilio Agency LLC, DiVirgilio opened the agency because as a family man, he wants to help ensure the safety of families and individual­s throughout Connecticu­t.

“My goal when I review each client’s coverages is to be sure there are no gaps in their insurance portfolio,” he said. “The proper coverages will ensure against any loss to our client’s assets, which include their home, auto, retirement funds, and their families’ futures.”

A resident of Wolcott, DiVirgilio said that Farmers Insurance is one of the most prolific providers of auto, homeowners, life, business, personal umbrella, flood, and specialty insurance coverages in the United States.
