BOOKSTORE EVENT: The Winsted Community Bookstore at 414 Main Street, Winsted will be hosting a three-part Spring Sunday Series. Sunday, 4 p.m., Roxanne Lovell will present a program on Preparing Your Garden. Bring soil samples from your garden and have them sent to the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station for analysis. EARTH DAY PLANT SALE: 35th Annual Earth Day Plant Sale, sponsored by the Northwest Conservation District (NCD), returns to the Goshen Fairgrounds, 116 Middle Street (Route 63) in Goshen, April 21, 22,23. Gardeners will find thousands of green and growing plants, including native shrubs and perennials, bare root and evergreen tree plugs, edibles from strawberries and asparagus to fruit trees, flowering and ornamental trees, groundcovers and ornamental grasses. The selection of plants is geared towards native species to provide habitat for wildlife and food sources for pollinators, butterflies and birds.
