A member of the Connecticut State Board of Education facing a warrant for his arrest has been missing since last month.

Stephen P. Wright, a 62-yearold attorney from Monroe who was reappointed to the State Board of Education by Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in 2015, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol four times since February, according to court records.

Chief Disciplinary Counsel Karyl Carrasquilla is seeking to have Wright placed on “inactive status” because he is currently “in-

capacitated from continuing to practice law by reason of mental infirmity or illness, or because of drug dependency or addiction to alcohol,” according to court documents.

Wright was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol on Feb. 22, Feb. 27, March 17, and April 10. On April 20 a warrant was issued for his arrest due to his failure to appear for a court hearing regarding one of his arrests.

The last State Board of Education meeting Wright attended was April 5.

Wright, who also has offices in Trumbull, served on the Trumbull school board from 2004-2013 and was a member of a number of other local boards and committees. “We remain concerned for him and hope that he has connected with, or will connect with soon, those who can help guide him through this,” Kelly Donnelly, a spokeswoman for Malloy, said Monday.
