UConn guard Crystal Dangerfield and three of her future teammates are among those set to take part in the U.S. U-19 national team tryouts later this month.

UConn incoming freshmen Mikayla Coombs and Megan Walker and Class of 2018 commit Charli Collier are also among the 33 players heading to Colorado Springs for the tryouts which run from May 18-21.

Christyn Williams, one of UConn’s Class of 2018 recruiting targets, is also heading to the trials as a committee chaired by former UConn star Jen Rizzotti will select the team to play in the FIBA U19 World Cup in Italy from July 22-30.

Dangerfield is looking to make her third U.S. junior national team. In 2013, she averaged 7 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game helping the U.S go undefeated in the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women. She averaged 6.4 points and was second on the team with 19 assists and 14 steals in helping the U.S. to win the U19 world title in 2015. She was selected to play on the U18 team in 2016 but an injury forced her to pull out.

Walker averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals on the 2016 U18 team while Collier and Williams were members of the U17 national team in 2016. Williams was second on the team in scoring averaging 11.9 points per game trailing only fellow Class of 2018 recruiting target Olivia Nelson-Ododa. Collier averaged 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in just 7.7 minutes per game for the U17 team last summer.
