Registration open for trips to casinos, races, ball games and tours

>> The Torrington Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled trips to the casinos and other destinations for the spring and summer months.

Casino trips are held on the third Monday of the month and are $25 per person, per trip. The bus leaves from the Torrington Plaza (Staples Plaza near 99 Restaurant) at 8 a.m. and leaves the casino at 4 p.m. Early registration is encouraged. Trips will beheld June 19, Aug. 21 and Oct. 16 for Mohegan Sun, and Sept. 18 for Foxwoods.

May 27, Boston Beer Tour. Trip includes transportation on Charter Bus, Admission to Sam Adams, Harpoon and a local craft brewery, a cookout and games/ prizes on the bus ride. Departs from the Torrington Plaza near 99 Restaurant at 7 a.m. and returns approximately 8 p.m. Fee is $100 per person.

June 4, NASCAR, Dover’s DeMotor Speedway. Trip includes transportation to Delaware on Charter Bus, Ticket to the 1 p.m. A.A.A. Drive for Autism 400 Race, with games/prizes on the bus ride and a cookout before and after the race. Departs from the Hamilton Avenue Commuter Lot in Waterbury at 7 a.m. and returns around midnight. Fees: $175 per person (First Turn, Rows 1-30), $209 per person (First Turn, Rows 3160).

June 10, 149th Belmont Stakes. The final leg of the Triple Crown has arrived. Trip includes transportation to Belmont Park on Charter Bus, reserved seating and food before the race. Departs from the Commuter Lot across from Dunkin’ Donuts in Thomaston at 8 a.m. and returns around 8 p.m. Fee: $150 per person.

June 11, New York City shopping, wine tour. Trip includes transportation to New York City on Charter Bus, Wine tasting at the oldest winery in the country: The Brotherhood Winery, cookout, 6 hours of shopping over 225 outlet stores and leisure time at Woodbury Commons, and games/ prizes on the bus ride. Departs from the Torrington Plaza near 99 Restaurant at 9 a.m. and returns around 8 p.m. Fee: $85 per person.

June 18, Washington Nationals vs New York Mets. Trip includes transportation on Charter Bus to Mets Stadium, ticket to the 1:10 p.m. game, cookout and games/prizes on the bus. Departs 9:30 a.m. from the Torrington Plaza near 99 Restaurant and returns around 7 p.m. Fee: $115 per person.

June 24, Statue Of Liberty & Ellis Island. Trip includes transportation on Charter Bus to New York, admission to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, a boxed lunch, and games/ prizes on the bus. Departs from the Commuter Lot across from Dunkin’ Donuts in Thomaston at 8 a.m. and returns around 8 p.m. Fee: $100 per person; discounts are offered for Seniors 59+ and children 12 and under.

Sept. 1, Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees. Trip includes transportation to Yankee Stadium on Charter Bus, Ticket to the 7:05 p.m. game (Section 414), a cookout before the game and games/prizes on the bus. Departs from the Commuter Lot across from Dunkin’ Donuts in Thomaston at 3 p.m. and returns around midnight. Fee: $135 per person.
