‘NOT SO CUDDLY’ ANIMAL PROGRAM: The Winchester Land Trust presents a program, “Not So Cuddly” Thursday at 4 p.m. at Beardsley & Memorial Library, Munro Place, Winsted. The program for children is intended to show how “to be heroes to creatures that are often overlooked or mistreated because of their appearance. After meeting a turtle and a snake up close, children can learn to help a turtle safely across the road, to be a good steward of the environmen­t and to protect “Nature’s Not So Cuddly.” The program is free and the public is welcome.

RESCHEDULE­D SOCIAL: A Town Wide Ice Cream Social for Winsted has been reschedule­d to May 19, 4-6 p.m. at East End Park. Live music and face painting for children provided. The ice cream is being provided by the Northwest Hills Council of Government­s. Winsted residents answered the most planning surveys of the twenty-two towns in the NHCOG this past winter. All are welcome to attend.
