Thanks to all for helping Quilts that Care

Letters to the Editor

- — Susan Armstrong, Quilts that Care, Waterbury

I want to express my thanks and gratitude to each of the donors and sponsors in the April 25-26 Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Connecticut Community Foundations’ Give Local campaign who made contributions to Quilts that Care.

Their generosity truly helps to make a difference in the lives of others.

As an all-volunteer organization, we depend largely on community sponsors and donors to continue our mission of wrapping cancer patients and their families in comfort and hope, one quilt at a time.

With the continued out pouring of support from our non volunteer financial supporters, Quilts that Care is able to continue its mission of providing quilts to people currently undergoing cancer treatment and showing them that they are not alone.

To date, Quilts That Care has sewn and distributed over 1700 handmade unique quilts to cancer patients in Connecticut and beyond. Since moving to our new Headquarters at 130 Scott Road in Waterbury, the dedicated group of over 80 volunteers have made over 50 quilts each month.

This magnificent group of volunteers meet Saturdays at their Headquarters location, as well as various times during the week in satellite locations at Bristol Library, Litchfield Community Center, and Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, Waterbury.

If you are interested in helping with this mission, we’d love to have you stop by and speak with us. We always welcome and need new volunteers, even those that do not sew can help. Stop by on a Saturday at Scott Road, check out our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ quiltsthatcare/, our website at www.quiltsthatcare.org, email us at qtccontact@gmail.com, or call us at 860 782-1043.

Quilts that Care is a registered 501(c) 3 and all contributions may be tax deductible.

Thank you, again, so much to our generous donors and sponsors for helping Quilts that Care provide comfort and hope to cancer patients and their families, one quilt at a time.
